Lymphatic drainage, cellulite, and the art of getting unstuck
Why fighting your body doesn't work—and what does

Most conversations about cellulite sound like a war. Fight it. Burn it. Eliminate it. Declare war on your thighs.
But here’s what I’ve learned in ten years of experience: your body is not your enemy. That dimple on your leg? That puffiness after a long flight? That heavy feeling that won’t go away, even though you exercise and eat well?
That’s not a failure. That’s fluid. That’s stagnation. That’s your lymphatic system asking for a little help.
The problem isn’t you. It’s the sitting.
We move less than our bodies were designed for. Desk jobs. Long commutes. Hours on the couch scrolling. Even if you exercise for 45 minutes a day, the other 23 hours matter. Your lymphatic system—the network of vessels that carries fluid, waste, and toxins out of your tissues—has no central pump. It relies entirely on movement, muscle contraction, and deep breathing to work.
When you sit still for hours? Things get stuck.
Fluid pools. Swelling appears. Cellulite becomes more visible. Not because you did something wrong. Because your body is a river, and rivers need to flow.
Two ways to help it flow. Very different rhythms.
I offer two lymphatic drainage techniques in my studio. Both work. Both are valuable. But they feel completely different.
The Ocean Sculpt
This is the Renata França Brazilian Method. Firm. Fast. Rhythmic.
This technique uses kneading, pinching, and sliding movements to physically move fluid and reshape fat deposits. It’s vigorous. You’ll feel it working. Results are visible immediately— sometimes in one session.
Best for: Sculpting, detox, reducing swelling, and feeling lighter right away.
The Silent Tide
This is the Vodder method. Soft. Slow. Almost a whisper.
The Vodder method uses light, circular, rhythmic movements to gently encourage lymph flow without pressure. You might barely feel my hands— but your body feels it deeply. It’s meditative. Restorative.
Best for: Pregnancy, chronic swelling, fatigue, stress, or when you simply need to drift.

A different way to talk about cellulite
I don’t see cellulite as something to destroy.
I see it as information. It tells me where fluid is stuck. Where movement is missing. Where your body is asking for a little rhythm.
When we work together—with firm, flowing hands or soft, circular ones—we’re not at war. We’re restoring movement. Unsticking what’s stuck. Reminding your body how to flow.
And that feels much better than fighting yourself.
